Ms. Irela Bagué is an accomplished public relations and governmental affairs specialist with more than 18 years of experience. As a former state appointed official Ms. Bagué has earned the respect of clients and policy makers alike. Her clients rely on her in‐depth understanding of the political process. Her critical insight and straightforward communications style makes her a credible and engaging spokesperson.

 

In 2003, Ms. Bagué was appointed to the South Florida Water Management District Board by Governor Jeb Bush, where she held the position of Board Vice‐Chair until April 2007. Ms. Bagué was responsible for establishing policy in the areas of water resources development and regulation, flood control, water quality protection, and natural systems restoration.

Her career highlights include working with a number of private sector companies on business development and community positioning initiatives as well as developing numerous public involvement campaigns for the Florida Department of Transportation FDOT, Miami Dade County, Miami Dade Expressway Authority, Miami Dade WASD and the Miami Dade MPO. Ms.Bagué has also worked for Audubon of Florida, National Audubon Society's Florida State Office as the State's Public Affairs Coordinator. Before joining Audubon, she was a Government and Public Affairs Specialist in Miami Dade County for the South Florida Water Management District. In this capacity, she managed media relations, event coordination and community outreach for the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan.

Prior to her work with SFWMD, Ms. Bagué served as a Commission Aide to former Miami‐Dade County Commissioner Miguel Diaz de la Portilla, where she handled community affairs, intergovernmental relations, coordinated media and community events and managed the Commissioner's District office, serving a heavily‐populated sector of western Miami‐Dade County.
