Ed Russo (EcoWeek Chairman), Project Director for Trump International

Ed has been associated with environmental crusades and organizations for over thirty years. Since moving to the Keys in 2001, Ed has been looking to continue serious environmental work. All too often environmental organizations expend significant energies promoting initiatives that allow members to feel good instead of focusing on the challenges that result in crucial environmental improvements. Florida Keys EcoWeek has demonstrated a clear understanding of the urgencies and threats that require sober and serious responses. It is an organization that has led the fight to protect and preserve the essential natural resources of the Florida Keys and beyond.” Ed’s life has been and will continue to be dedicated to raising funds and advancing environmental responsibility.

The Journey to Sustainability: The Courage to Change is in All of Us

Industrialism developed in a different world from the one we live in today: fewer people, less material wellbeing, plentiful natural resources. What emerged was a highly productive, take-make-waste system that assumed infinite resources and infinite sinks for industrial wastes. In today’s world, this approach is archaic and in fact is endangering our prosperity, not enhancing it. That is why fundamental change is required and a focus on sustainability is so important.
